I feel foolish

From the MRW Water Cooler

Q: Mike,

will this be the best place to ask questions about Dirty Jobs? It seems weird to ask it over here rather than over at DJMB, but if you’re going to be spending more time here, then it seems to me a waste of time posting questions over on the DJMB. I realize you don’t have a lot of time to spare and any you do spend on the boards is great, however I’m wondering if you’re getting ready to say goodbye to the Mud Room since splitting time between here and the Mud Room must be virtually impossible. If you could clear up my confusion, I’d be most grateful.

Hi Dani

I guess it depends on the question. Aside from The Mudroom, there are 8 separate forums on The DJ site.

If your only point in asking a question is to get an answer from me, then I’m afraid you run the risk of wasting your time in either place. I can make no such guarantee, and never will. But asking questions about Dirty Jobs is a great way to start a conversation with some interesting people, whether I’m a part of or not. In whatever place you prefer. Personally, I like both.

People have been predicting, wondering, and asking about the end of The Mudroom since my very first post, nearly four years ago. What I’ve learned, is that nothing I can say will stop it. No amount of assurance, no amount of explanation. If I had a master plan, I’d tell you. If I had no intention of ever returning, I’d tell you. Sometimes I’ll be there, sometimes I’ll be here. And sometimes I’ll be nowhere. There’s no reason to be confused Dani, and no reason to feel foolish. You’re welcome in both places.

Mike
