mikeroweWORKS is Making a Difference

I like the way the big screen makes me look thinner and taller than I really am. I also like discussing the impact that mikeroweWORKS has had over the last 16 years while sipping my grandfather’s whiskey in front of 2,000 people. (As you may have heard, online purchases of Knobel Whiskey benefit the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, and such purchases can be transacted at knobelspirits.com. Ho, ho, ho!) Most of all, though, I like it when major publications like Forbes write about the pressing need to reinvigorate the skilled trades. From the attached…

“Mike Rowe, former host of Dirty Jobs and founder of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, has been a vocal advocate for challenging this mindset. When I met him at the ConnexFM Annual Convention earlier this year, he shared that his foundation provides scholarships for students pursuing trade careers, highlighting the financial and personal rewards these paths can offer. Rowe has famously said that “work is not the enemy” and that success doesn’t necessarily hinge on a four-year degree. Rowe’s efforts are helping shift the narrative and draw attention to the lucrative and meaningful careers in skilled trades.”

I mention this, not because I enjoy patting myself on the back, but because mikeroweWORKS really is making a difference, and I’m so grateful for all the support we’ve received from the people who follow me online. This was our biggest year to date, with nearly $2.5 million in scholarships awarded. Next year, with your help, will be even bigger. No pressure, but if you’re inclined to donate before the end of the year, you can do so at mikeroweWORKS. (The big DONATE button is hard to miss.) Also, if your invested in the stock market, make sure you look into the tax advantages of donating appreciated stock. The advantages are significant. https://bit.ly/3Dnt54P
