For many years, some other guy named Mike Rowe owned mikerowe.com. He didn’t do anything with it, but he nevertheless refused to sell it for what I felt to be a reasonable sum. I saw this as a sign from above, and an ideal excuse to not launch my own personal website.
But then, after years of squatting, the other Mike Rowe didn’t send in his renewal check to Go Daddy. Perhaps he forgot. Or maybe his check bounced. Regardless, my alert “staff” swooped in and bought back my name for a surprisingly modest sum.
Out of excuses, I had no choice but to build this place. And so I have.
