As I’ve ranted previously, the removal of shop class from high schools has done more long-term damage to our workforce than most people can even contemplate. Thankfully, organizations like unCommon Construction are picking up the slack, and I’m proud to support them through mikeroweWORKS. This a pre-apprenticeship program that could, (and should) work as a model for every high school in the country. Check out this short video, and share it far and wide.
Thanks –
Mike
PS. Big thanks to Wolverine Boots & Apparel, who has been supporting these guys for the last five years. This year, they allowed the students to help design a work boot, and it is seriously the most comfortable work boot I’ve ever worn. If you need a pair, $30 goes to UCC NOLA.
