A quick shout-out to the guys over at Master Boat Builders, featured in last week’s episode. If you’re wondering what it takes to build a tugboat from stem to stern, there’s not enough space here to explain it. Likewise, there wasn’t nearly enough time on Dirty Jobs to show you. Suffice it to say, you need a boatyard full of men with uncommon skill, uncommon work ethic, a high threshold for pain, a propensity for advanced math, and a relentless sense of humor. Those things I found in abundance at the shipyard in Coden, Alabama. Big thanks to Garrett Rice, for allowing us in, Braxton, for kicking my ass, and Eddie, for his enduring patience with a novice pipe-fitter. Back to work,
gentlemen.
