Thank you Wolverine Boots & Apparel for these amazing boots!! Wolverine is a proud sponsor of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, and I received a free pair of boots from them as a “congrats” on winning my scholarship. Couldn’t have come at a better time, either. These babies are composite toe (no freezing steel toes), waterproof, and insulated. I wore them today and they are wonderfully comfortable! Thanks for your support of the trades, Wolverine, from a fellow Michigander!
Hi Carlyn –
Thanks for posting this. Wolverine has been a terrific partner, and I’ve done a poor job of singing their praises. What they’re doing for the skilled trades is an example that dozens of other companies could and should follow. Check out this press release, which hit the wire today, http://read.bi/2xpPpUD, and give the attached video a look. The crew from This Old House will bring you up to speed with what’s going on, and you’ll be glad you spent 90 seconds looking at something worthwhile. Promise.
Honestly, the skills gap will only close if more companies like Wolverine tell these kinds of stories, and support these kinds of programs. Kudos to them, and kudos to This Old House for helping lead the charge. And congrats to you on the scholarship. (No pressure, but we all waiting for you to do something great.)
Best,
Mike
