Not everyone on Returning the Favor was committed to the truth. In fact, some of the most empathetic honorees on that show were capable of profound manipulation and wanton deception. Consider the case of Ronda Paulson, one of the kindest women I’ve ever met, and the founder of Isiah 1:17 House.
Rhonda’s efforts to improve the lives of kids trapped in the foster care system are unrivaled, and her impact on that broken system is unmatched. So too, is the remarkable way thousands of people stepped up to mirror her efforts after seeing her on Returning the Favor. But none of that would have happened if she hadn’t hoodwinked her poor husband into following her on this mission. That, was truly impressive.
In the attached clip, Rhonda describes the conniving way she coaxed poor Corey into turning his world upside down, in order to improve the lives of countless kids they’d never met. It’s the true story of a wife who did what she had to do to get her husband on board, and a husband who couldn’t say no, once he saw the truth. A love story, in other words.
