It’s hard. Really, really, really hard to find a US company in the clothing industry that’s figured out a way to make their products entirely in America, and still remain competitive. The key, of course, is to control every element of your supply line, and that’s easier said than done. Well, American Giant has done it, and my conversation today with their CEO is kind of fascinating, if I don’t say so myself. Bayard Winthrop has figured out a model that might very well be a path forward for a lot of other companies who are trying to make it in America.
