Chris Power came to this country from Australia in 2019 with $6,000. From a hotel room in Texas, he cold-called hundreds of manufacturers to find where supply chains were failing and concluded that precision manufacturing for aerospace and defense suffered from a massive lack of automation and a vanishing skilled workforce. He founded Hadrian in 2021 to use physical AI, software, and robotics to make high-precision metal parts drastically faster and more efficiently. The company is now worth billions, with high-tech facilities in Southern California and Arizona, and lots of interesting contracts within the defense industrial base. Best of all, Chris is transforming the way skilled tradespeople get the training they need, specifically in the manufacturing sector. It’s a true fast-track and oftentimes involves kids coming straight from high school to the manufacturing floor, and the results are impressive. Here’s the case study that originally got my attention. https://americancompass.org/case-study-hadrian/
Big thanks to Chris for coming on the show. A short clip is below. Our whole conversation is here.
