Hot Under The Blue Collar, Part 2

Here’s a new version of my now redundant rant against the high cost of college, and the soul-deadening stupidity of leading money we don’t have to kids who can’t pay it back in order to educate them for jobs that no longer exist.

Honestly – the amount of outstanding student debt is now so mind-numbingly large, I can’t even get the numbers right in my own video. Watch closely, and you’ll hear me call “one trillion, three-hundred billion dollars”, “one trillion, three hundred million dollars.”

Oops. I guess maybe I get a little loopy, when the numbers eclipse a trillion – even though they’re spelled out right in front of me. (But hey – what’s an extra two hundred billion, seven hundred million between friends?)

Anyway, over at mikeroweWORKS, we’re still trying to give away the relatively modest amount of $400,000, and I’m still amazed at how difficult it is to entice people to get trained for jobs that actually exist. As I write this, thousands of good jobs are going begging, and we’re trying to fix that by offering scholarships to those not terrified by the prospect of mastering a skilled trade. You can apply here for a scholarship, but only for the next few weeks. mikeroweworks.org

It’s appears our friend Chuck is also Hot Under the Blue Collar. He’s stumbled across an absurd article unfairly besmirching the skilled trades, and taken it upon himself to challenge their assumptions. I for one, found it both amusing and surprisingly free of typos.
